Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. Therefore, we always collect and process personal data responsibly and with your privacy in mind. This privacy policy explains how Akind AB (“Akind”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collect, use and share your personal data when you visit or make a purchase from www.akindstore.com (the “Site”). It also describes your rights and how to exercise them.

1. Personal information we collect

Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. When we talk about “Personal Information” in this privacy policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.

2. How we use your Personal Information

3. Sharing your Personal Information

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use the same. For example, our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your Personal Information is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases, and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall. 4. Transferring your Personal Information 

Third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy and no transfer of your personal data will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of your data and other personal information.

5. Payment

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted. All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

It should be noted that payment gateways and other payment transaction processors have their own privacy policies with respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions. So if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

Once you leave our Site or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this privacy policy or our Site's Terms of Use. When you click on links on our store, they may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.

6. How we collect consent

When you provide us with Personal Information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to us collecting it and using it for that specific reason only. If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing via our newsletter, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent or provide you with an opportunity to say no. If you no longer wish to receive our newsletter you can, whenever you want, unsubscribe directly in the footer of the e-mail newsletter or contact us through the contact information below.

7. How to withdraw your consent

If after you opt-in (i.e. allowed us to collect your Personal Information), you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at any time, by contacting us through the contact information below.

You have the right, at any time, to access the Personal Information we hold about you and ask that it be corrected, updated, or deleted. Nevertheless, we cannot delete your data when there is a statutory requirement for storage, such as accounting rules, or when there are other legitimate reasons why the data must be saved, such as unpaid debts. However, you may at all times revoke your consent to let us use your Personal Information for marketing purposes.

9. Data retention

When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records either until you ask us to delete this information or in accordance with applicable law.

10. Cookies

General about cookies

A cookie is a small text file that is saved on your computer or mobile device and retrieved from there on subsequent visits to the current site. Cookies are used to improve website services. Some are essential for the functionality of the site, while others are used to enhance usability and your user experience. If our store is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you.
