Lab-Grown Diamonds

Just a Diamond minus the mining.

Our diamonds are sustainably grown aboveground; Because we say no to Environmental Pollution, Blood Diamonds, Deforestation, Wildlife Displacement, Groundwater Pollution, Cartel Pricing, Child Labor, and Displacement of Local Communities.

Real Diamonds

Our diamonds grow above earth, in laboratories that are mimicking the natural growing process of an earth diamond. The idea is similar to planting a tree in a greenhouse versus foraging it from the woods. Just a Diamond minus the mining.

Just like earth-mined diamonds, lab-grown diamonds are made up of one single element – carbon. They’re exactly the same thing. According to the Federal Trade Commission in the U.S., lab-grown diamonds are chemically optically and physically identical to earth-mined diamonds.

Growing Diamonds

The process of growing a diamond in a lab consists of carbon atoms crystallizing under the same conditions as mined diamonds. The process starts by cutting a small piece of carbon of pre-existing diamonds, a “seed”, which is then placed in a low-pressure microwave chemical vapor deposition chamber.

World Positive

There are many reasons why lab-grown diamonds are a better option to those mined from the earth. They cost less than earth mined diamonds and they are the only diamonds guaranteed to be conflict-free. In addition, lab-grown diamonds are rarer and more beautiful than 98% of diamonds on the market. Only 2% of diamonds mined from the earth will ever reach the same level of perfection as every single lab-grown diamond. But perhaps most important, lab-grown diamonds have 7 times less the environmental impact than an earth-mined diamond.

Meet one of our Diamond Suppliers

We've partnered with San Francisco-based Diamond Foundry. Backed by Leonardo Di Caprio in his quest to fight the diamond industry, their diamonds have impeccable provenance. Diamond Foundry are the world's only zero-carbon-footprint producer of diamonds - and certified so. Their diamond production is using 100% renewable energy, meaning that Akind's diamonds cause zero emissions.
